Getting Back In The Swing Of Things

Home and life got a little in my way after I started this blog but you know what, it's okay. I'm sure that you found other places to go and other blogs to read. I'm back, maybe not on a daily basis but lets just say a more regular basis. I'll be adding family recipes (no family secrets here), reviews of movies (liked and disliked), a review of products I've tried (poor to great), my great finds (antiques and collectibles), nature photos and stories (where we live), family news (what's appropriate) and my Twitter updates (which have also been neglected). I might even throw in a few DIY pictures since we are completely remodeling our home.

First of all I want to know what you like? What are your passions? Do you collect anything? What are your hobbies? Let's make this blog a place you can come and relax, kick your shoes off and just have fun with it. I want you to be able to feel comfortable and say whatever you want here.

IMHO

One of my biggest passions is buying American Made items. Not necessarily old but finding companies that still manufacture here in the U.S. My biggest gripe about products now is that they say "MANUFACTURED FOR......such and such a company in the U.S. or they say DISTRIBUTED BY........such and such a company in the U.S. When in fact that much is true what they are not telling you is that they are having the products manufactured somewhere else, shipped here and distributed by they parent company in the U.S. If someone doesn't know that, they are not getting what they think they are getting.

It is difficult to find items that are manufactured here anymore but not impossible. You just have to know where to look. I will list sites and companies along the way because this is my passion. I am all about the American Workers and keeping or getting the jobs back here. It makes me ill when the great icons of the American industry are now made in other countries. The reasoning is for one thing only, the greed of these corporations. We are getting a inferior product and sometimes a dangerous product for the same price if not more. I have stopped purchasing most of these products long ago. Unless I find them online or a substitute that is made here. I will pay more for an American Made Product.

One item I will not EVER purchase made out of this country is our own flag. Old Glory will fly here but she will never have a label on her that doesn't say MADE IN THE U.S.A. I refuse. That is an insult. There are several companies in the U.S. that make the American Flag along with other banners and flags. As long as they are in business I will fly a TRUE American Flag.

Here's a great place to look for items Made In USA.

(FYI-I am not hired, working for, paid by, an associate of, or in any way affiliated with any company I link you to unless stated.)

Find the Hummingbird photo

Here's a little game for you. I have a picture below. Look for the hummingbird. There's no prize but it'll be fun to see if you find it. He's easier to find than you think. ;D Have fun.

And last but not least here's the prettiest tree ever but it's smell is not as sweet as it's blossoms. Do you know the tree? It's a Choke Cherry. It's beautiful in full bloom.

New To Blogging

Welcome!!

As you can see this blog is new and under construction. But I promise I will do my best to get it up and running for you reading pleasure within the next few days. I promise, wit, humor, a little sappiness, happiness and fun. I'm not a college grad. What you see is what you get, honest writing from the heart. If you can overlook typos and a misplaced comma here and there, this blog is the blog for you.

I have never been one to keep up with the Jones'. Heck, I don't even know anyone by that name. That's probably a good thing because we've never had the money or the time to keep up with them. It makes me wonder though why some of my acquaintances have been envious of my husband and me. I know what it is and I'm here to share that with you. We have a "This too shall pass" attitude and follow our motto: Don't Sweat The Small Stuff!

Now sit back, grab a cup of coffee (or your drink of choice) and enjoy the blog. I'll be back shortly to catch you up on what's going on in my life and you can tell me a little about yours.

I can always use another friend. Follow me! Ha! That's the first time I've ever asked for a stalker. :)
